With such an amazing resource in our backyards, we love to encourage people to get out and explore the Winooski River and its tributaries. This section of our website lists various activities and resources for people interested in boating, fishing and exploring the Winooski. FWR believes that people who enjoy the river will take care of it, so we encourage responsible river recreation. We organize paddling events in the summer:

  Moonlight paddle to Lake Champlain

FWR improves public access points for paddlers, anglers, and swimmers, such as the Bill Haines Memorial Canoe Access at Montpelier High School.
