Experience the River

With such an amazing resource in our backyards, we love to encourage people to get out and explore the Winooski River and its tributaries. This section of our website lists various activities and resources for people interested in boating, fishing or exploring the Winooski.

Each June, Friends of the Winooski River hosts the Winooski River Sojourn - a six day paddling trip down the length of the Winooski River. Part fundraiser and part awareness raiser, the Sojourn serves as an opportunity to introduce Vermonters to the Winooski River while paddling down it. Paddlers can choose to paddle all six days or a half day. Registration usually opens in early February. Check out the Sojourn section of the site for details.
